Analaitivu Divisional Hospital
The Need
Analaitivu Divisional Hospital is in need of enhancements to its facilities in order to continue serving the local population of approximately 2,000. Analaitivu is an island off the coast of Jaffna Peninsula, Northern Province, located approximately 25 km (16 miles) west of the city of Jaffna.
The needs assessment at the hospital has identified these items:
Refrigerator for the hospital dispensary to store medicine and I.V. drugs at the required temperature - approximate cost $600 CAD
Repair and renovation of Medical Officer quarters (currently shared by 4 officers) - approximate cost $2,000 CAD
Renovation and furnishing of staff room; currently staff are forced to find empty corridors for breaks - approximate cost $2,500 CAD
Hospital rear site boundary wall to keep out animals - approximate cost $3,100 CAD
Repairs to washroom facilities for the male, female and maternity wards - approximate cost $6,300
The Solution
Two generous donors have come forward to pledge $7,000 Canadian dollars towards this project. We need your help to ensure that this hospital and the island residents continue to receive quality medical care.
